There are some gifts that hold more than fabric and thread. Some that carry the weight of legacy, loyalty, and love. My daughterâmy brave, beautiful Airwomanâjust returned from deployment (bet you didn’t see that in the news!) and presented me with something Iâll treasure for the rest of my days:
A flag that was flown over Syria and Iraq in my honor aboard an F-16 Fighting Falcon, assigned to the 480th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron. It soared through skies shaped by history, hope, and resilience. And then⊠it didnât stop there.
This very same flag was secured to a Military Working Dog, a loyal and courageous guardian in the field, and carried in my honor once more.
Let that sink in.
A piece of Americaâflown high in the sky, graced by the wings of a fighter jet and the paws of a working dogâwas brought home to me⊠because my daughter wanted to say, âThank you, Mom.â
But hereâs the truth: Iâm the one whoâs thankful.
Thank you, Gabriella, for your service. For the strength you carry, the sacrifices youâve made, and the powerful way you walk through this world.
Thank you for honoring me, when it is you who inspires me daily.
This flag is not just a symbol of a nationâitâs a symbol of you. Of your courage, your commitment, and the legacy you’re building.
I will cherish it with every heartbeat.đ
Love always,
Mom đ
