When I originally requested to read this book, only the title caught my eye. As I delved deeper into the story, I realized the author was Kelly Rimmer, the author of The Things We Cannot Say. I was stoked! I’m sorry my review is late, but hey, life happens.
This novel is about Fiona Winslow… Am I supposed to put spoilers in here? This novel has a little bit of everything. Romance, heartache, mysteries and a spooky mansion and my absolute favorite, a story inside a story! There are long-buried family secrets (literally) that unfold in such an engaging way you’ll want to keep listening.
The audobook experience was even more delightful. The beautiful narration brought the brilliant writing to life. Rimmer’s writing is vivid and deeply emotional. She captures the ache of loss, the pull of family, and the allure of forgotten stories in a way that lingers long after the final chapter.
I especially enjoyed the letter to the reader at the end of the book that discussed the organization that was mentioned in the book.
This story is a must read!
